      "body": "## Function\n\nIf a travelling employee is incapacitated abroad by accident, serious illness or death, the business purpose of the trip – contract negotiation, installation, audit, project acceptance – remains unfinished. The replacement staff costs module reimburses the employer for the expenses of getting a suitable substitute to the place of assignment: flight or rail, transfers, accommodation and meals for the duration of the journey and, in many wordings, the substitute's return trip. Under the ERV wording, the outbound and return journey of a substitute employee is paid on the basis of the originally booked class, business class at most. The AIG wording adds the cost of the originally assigned person resuming the assignment after recovery.\n\n## Distinctions\n\nReplacement staff costs are an expense cover in favour of the employer, not a benefit to the insured person. They must be distinguished from the repatriation of the sick traveller, from cancellation and curtailment costs and from key person insurance, which covers loss of profit on the permanent loss of a key person rather than the travel costs of a stand-in. Not reimbursed, as a rule, are the substitute's salary costs, lost profit from the missed business and substitute travel where the absence is not due to an insured medical event. Typical limits are in the five-figure range per event.\n\n## Practical Note\n\nThe module is relevant for companies with time-critical deployments – service technicians, project teams, contract signings. It should be checked whether the death of a close relative at home also counts as a trigger and whether the substitute may travel from abroad."

      "body": "## Funktion\n\nFällt eine reisende Mitarbeiterin oder ein Mitarbeiter im Ausland durch Unfall, schwere Erkrankung oder Tod aus, bleibt der geschäftliche Zweck der Reise – Vertragsverhandlung, Montage, Audit, Projektabnahme – unerledigt. Der Baustein Ersatzpersonalkosten erstattet dem Arbeitgeber die Aufwendungen, um eine geeignete Ersatzkraft an den Einsatzort zu bringen: Flug oder Bahn, Transfers, Unterkunft und Verpflegung für die Dauer der Anreise, in vielen Wordings auch die Rückreise der Ersatzkraft. Nach dem ERV-Wording werden Hin- und Rückreise eines Austauschmitarbeiters auf Basis der ursprünglich gebuchten Klasse, maximal Business Class, übernommen. Das AIG-Wording ergänzt die Kosten für die Wiederaufnahme des Auftrags durch die ursprünglich entsandte Person nach ihrer Genesung.\n\n## Abgrenzung\n\nErsatzpersonalkosten sind eine Kostenversicherung zugunsten des Arbeitgebers und keine Leistung an die versicherte Person. Sie sind von der Rückführung des erkrankten Reisenden, von den Annullierungs- und Abbruchkosten sowie von der Schlüsselpersonenversicherung zu unterscheiden, die den Ertragsausfall bei dauerndem Ausfall einer Schlüsselperson abdeckt, nicht die Reisekosten einer Vertretung. Nicht erstattet werden in der Regel Lohnkosten der Ersatzkraft, entgangener Gewinn aus dem verpassten Geschäft sowie Reisen von Ersatzkräften, wenn der Ausfall nicht auf ein versichertes medizinisches Ereignis zurückgeht. Übliche Limiten liegen im fünfstelligen Bereich pro Ereignis.\n\n## Praxishinweis\n\nDer Baustein ist für Unternehmen mit zeitkritischen Einsätzen – Servicetechniker, Projektteams, Vertragsabschlüsse – relevant. Zu prüfen ist, ob auch der Todesfall einer nahestehenden Person zu Hause als Auslöser gilt und ob die Ersatzkraft aus dem Ausland anreisen darf."
