      "body": "## Risk profile\n\nSandwich panels with cores made of polyurethane, polystyrene or other combustible plastics are widely used in industrial and warehouse construction because of their good insulating performance and fast installation. In a fire, however, flames can spread within the concealed core between the thin metal facings at very high speed, largely hidden from firefighters and difficult to combat. Combined with a steel-framed structure, the risk of collapse also increases.\n\n## Measures\n\nNon-combustible cores (mineral wool) are available to reduce this risk; where combustible cores are used, properly executed joints, tested fixing systems and complementary protection measures such as sprinklers or compartmentation become decisive. In existing buildings, the core composition is often undocumented and must be established by opening a panel or obtaining manufacturer information.\n\n## Insurance relevance\n\nBuildings with combustible sandwich panels and no compensating protection measures are considered an elevated risk in property insurance and are frequently subject to conditions, sublimits or premium loadings. Core composition is therefore a standard checkpoint in every risk survey of industrial and logistics properties."

      "body": "## Risikoprofil\n\nSandwichpaneele mit Kernen aus Polyurethan, Polystyrol oder anderen brennbaren Kunststoffen sind wegen ihrer guten Dämmwirkung und schnellen Montage in Industrie- und Lagerbauten weit verbreitet. Im Brandfall kann sich das Feuer jedoch im Kern zwischen den dünnen Blechschalen verdeckt und mit hoher Geschwindigkeit ausbreiten, für Löschmannschaften kaum einsehbar und schwer zu bekämpfen. Zusammen mit Stahlbau als Tragkonstruktion erhöht sich zudem das Einsturzrisiko.\n\n## Massnahmen\n\nZur Risikominderung stehen nichtbrennbare Kerne (Mineralwolle) zur Verfügung; wo brennbare Kerne eingesetzt werden, sind fachgerechte Stossfugenausbildung, geprüfte Befestigungssysteme sowie ergänzende Schutzmassnahmen wie Sprinklerung oder Brandabschnittsbildung entscheidend. Bei Bestandsbauten ist die Kernzusammensetzung häufig nicht dokumentiert und muss durch Bauteilöffnung oder Herstellerauskunft geklärt werden.\n\n## Versicherungsrelevanz\n\nGebäude mit brennbaren Sandwichpaneelen ohne kompensierende Schutzmassnahmen gelten in der Sachversicherung als erhöhtes Risiko und werden häufig mit Auflagen, Sublimiten oder Prämienzuschlägen belegt. Die Kernzusammensetzung ist deshalb ein Standardpunkt jeder Risikobesichtigung von Industrie- und Logistikimmobilien."
